About the Artist

I am a visual artist inspired to design and create by the things that I love.

I thrive on small town living. I prefer living off the beaten path and I love easy access to rural areas and the backcountry.  Known for my  landscape paintings of places that I have discovered while exploring remote and backcountry areas, my hope is that my paintings portray the natural undeveloped beauty of the places that I have chosen to visit or call home.

An avid gardner, my garden style includes the seeming disarray and glorious colour of country flower gardens and the fullness and bounty of established vegetable and herb gardens.

A collector of found treasures,  I experience total joy in the creation of mosaic artwork  using bits of  glassware, beach shells and stones, old family china, pieces of vintage jewelry and small sentimental objects and collectables.

Most recently I became inspired by my sister's love of  designing and creating quilts and joined her on her search for her perfect fabrics.  To my astonishment I found myself completely overwhelmed and addicted to the magic of colour and design in fabrics.

As an artist I am a long-time member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and received formal recognition in 2000, a founding member of the Bayfield Artist Guild, a member of the Borrego Art Institute and a past board member of the Bayfield Centre For The Arts .
